Olive polyphenols

Plant kingdom is a source of countless natural compounds, considered a wealth of biologically active “minor” components that has been actively researched.

In the last years, special attention has been paid to the phenolic compounds (commonly called polyphenols)

Olivenova^® was born to offer a comprehensive specialization of phenolic compounds from olives.

Thousand of studies have shown that olive polyphenols benefits are unique and unlimited. The biological activities of EVOO polyphenols have been extensively reviewed.

hydroxytyrosol

After years of describing polyphenols as free radical scavengers, scientists, doctors, industry and consumers are now realizing that there may be many other important mechanisms that can explain the connection between their dietary intake and longevity.

Hydroxytyrosol is recognized as the most potent and efficient antioxidant known and is abundant in olives.

It is a plant-derived phenolic compound, recognized for its potent antioxidant capabilities alongside a spectrum of pharmacological benefits, including anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.

It is chemically described as an ortho-diphenol, with the presence of an additional OH group in its benzene ring and with a very low molecular weight.
